Watch an A340 landing on ICE in ANTARCTICA!

Gabe traveled to Antarctica with White Desert earlier this month and there’s lots of incredible content coming your way from that trip but for now an appetizer: the A340-300 operated by Hi-Fly coming in to land at Wolf’s Fang Runway, the only private blue ice runway in Antarctica, after its 5.5 hour flight from Cape Town, South Africa.

We’ll also show you the runway backtrack as the A340 taxis to the apron and ground equipment is attached. In some ways it’s a lot like you’d expect at any airport in the world except, well, it’s very unique at the same time. Check it out and let us know what you think.

You can head to the White Desert website to learn more about what they offer: https://white-desert.com

The runway is named after the striking Wolf’s Fang peak that frames these shots – so-called because, well, it looks like a wolf’s fang (Ulvetanna in Norwegian). It’s an incredible operation here and we still can’t get over the fact that they can land a widebody in this place.
