In this video we take the Air Greenland Dash 8-200 flight from Nuuk (GOH) to Reykjavik’s Keflavik Airport (KEF) via Kulusuk (KUS), a gravel runway nestled in the mountains of East Greenland. See the long sunrise give way to a long sunset over three and a half hours of Dash 8 flying, the second part of which is over open ocean to Iceland.
Along the way we get a look at the Nuuk fjords and surrounding mountains, wide vistas of the Greenland ice sheet (we even spot a Cold War era DYE radar station!), the mountains of East Greenland and the most productive glacier on the island, the stunning moon over Kulusuk and a Bell 212 about to take off there (not to mention some polar bear skins), and we perform a lovely dusk landing into Keflavik. This was one of the most stunning flights ever!
