In this video we board the Airbus H225 SAR (search and rescue) helicopter operated by Air Greenland on behalf of Denmark’s Joint Arctic Command.
They take us up on a training mission so that we can see the helicopter in action and see what it’s like to work the hoist and pick up an injured person from the snowy wilderness of Greenland, on top of the famous Navigator’s Rock at the edge of the ice sheet. What an incredible experience. Part of our Greenland series, filmed in September 2021.
