Impressive Bamboo Airways 787-9 business class: trip report from Saigon to Hanoi

In this video we take new, fast-growing and highly ambitious Vietnamese airline Bamboo Airways for a spin on one of the world’s most-trafficked domestic routes: Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi. And what better aircraft to try them out on than the 787-9. They launched operations back in 2019 but we had a global pandemic for most of that so most of us from outside of Vietnam haven’t had much chance to try them out.
So, what are they doing right? And might they just be bringing some much-needed long-haul competition to the market, and keeping Vietnam Airlines on their toes? Watch and find out. Photo credit: © Nicholas Kimura https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10701666

We pet a BelugaXL!

Come spend the afternoon with us and the Airbus BelugaXL, the behemoth transport aircraft that is key to the Airbus industrial supply chain and yes, looks a whole lot like a Beluga. Highlight of the day: we got to pet the thing.

Inside Airbus: Where Airlines Design Their Cabins

We got a grand tour of Airbus’s Customer Definition Centre (CDC) in Hamburg — a 10,000-square-meter hub where airline teams spend days designing every last detail of their cabins. From lighting and seating layouts to full-scale cabin mockups with lavatories and crew rest areas, nothing is left to chance.

We’ve got an all-access pass to the A320 assembly lines at the Airbus facilities at Hamburg-Finkenwerder (XFW). That includes a very special look at A321XLR assembly and some of its most unique aspects including the Rear Center Tank (RCT), the innovative fuel tank that helps it fly as far as it does.

Condor A330NEO Flight Deck to Mauritius!

In this very special video we’re onboard Condor’s A330NEO with the pilots documenting the nearly 11-hour flight from Frankfurt (FRA) to Mauritius (MRU) from the jumpseat. With a crew that is especially eager to explain the inner workings of the aircraft and everything to do with a flight like this, and a very interesting route out over Cairo and much of East Africa before heading out over the Indian Ocean, this is a truly memorable learning experience full of great aviation knowledge and beautiful views on a full moon evening too!
