Today’s video is all about North Atlantic flying vibes: flying from Vagar in the Faroe Islands to Copenhagen aboard an Atlantic Airways A320.
Departing Vagar you’re most likely going to be flying Atlantic Airways to one of its European destinations, or on its New York flight which is coming back this year again for a limited time starting in September. Atlantic’s destinations include Edinburgh, Reykjavik, Paris, Billund, Oslo and of course Copenhagen. Not all of these are daily. This is a pretty small airline. Though you can also catch SAS from here to Copenhagen, and Wideroe even has a flight to Bergen on the Q400. I’ve heard that back in the day this could be a very gnarly airport to operate into. These days it’s still subject to the famously tricky Faroese weather which can mean low visibility, storms and rapidly changing conditions, but now with a longer runway and an ILS approach things are usually a bit more straightforward. If you’ve flown Atlantic Airways, be sure to let us know what your experiences were like in the comments.
