Etihad’s first A321LR delivery: Hamburg–Abu Dhabi

Fly with us from Hamburg-Finkenwerder (XFW) on board the first ever Etihad Airbus A321LR direct from the factory on a special ferry flight. We’re along for the delivery, flying on A6-LRA in business class (seat 5A) as Etihad takes it home on a 6h50m journey.

That means we’ve got some unique insights as we see what it’s like to depart from the Airbus charter center at Hamburg and then have many hours to test out the business class seat and service, soak up the views outside, and show you the festive atmosphere on the flight. There’s also the chance to speak to two of the Captains on board about the special day and some of the upgraded features on this airplane. We finish up with an arrival at the VIP Terminal in Abu Dhabi. What do you think of the new A321LR?

How Rolls-Royce Jet Engines Are Built

In this video we take you deep inside the Rolls Royce jet engine site in Derby, England to look at how these state-of-the-art jet engines are built, tested, inspected and improved. In particular we’ll be looking at the Trent 1000 (which powers the 787) and how Rolls Royce is improving reliability and durability by swapping out High Pressure Turbine components. We’ll also check out their most advanced engine inspection technology as we get a demo of their boroscoping method.
