Airport Snowplows that DRIVE THEMSELVES!

In this video we meet the autonomous airport snowplows of the future, taking a tour and a little test drive with Swedavia at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Better known as PSBs, these massive machines keep this Nordic airport running around the clock even in the worst weather the north can throw at it. In fact Arlanda Airport has never closed due to weather. Now Swedavia is pushing to the forefront of technology by trialing these incredible self-driving PSBs that will one day help make snow removal more accurate, faster and safer than ever before.

For now it’s in advanced testing, but soon enough it’ll be in real operation. Swedavia recently became the first operator in the world to run eight of these autonomous PSBs together, in a successful test. Now we’re among the first in the world to see how they do what they do. We’ve got runway 01R to ourselves as we make the rounds and watch them in action. No snow today, but it’s still mighty impressive.
