Airbus A220 flight test, paint shop & cabin outfitting!

In this video we take you deeper into A220 production looking at all aspects of bringing this aircraft to life and getting it into the customer’s hands. This is special behind-the-scenes access and rarely seen footage.

We head to the paint shop to see how they’re applying aircraft liveries to the A220.

We go to the flight test development center to see how Airbus continues to improve upon the aircraft on an ongoing bases via ground-based tests in a variety of simulators.

We visit the iron bird, a fascinating setup where Airbus can test all kinds of scenarios and parameters including the effects of physical loads on what is essentially a skeleton-version of an A220.

We speak to one of the original flight test pilots on the CSeries and tour FTV002, the second flight test vehicle they used to certify the aircraft back in the Bombardier days. See inside a test aircraft including the escape chute! And hear what it’s like to be a test pilot.

Last but not least we visit a nearly complete and ready for delivery jetBlue A220 to check out their amazing interior as well as hear from the man who’s in charge of making sure everything in the cabin is installed to spec and conforming to safety and certification requirements – there’s a lot more to it than you might have guessed!
