Join us for the full 30-minute flight (plus taxi on either ends) from Caracas (CCS) to Porlamar (PMV) on beautiful Margarita Island in Venezuela. We’re flying with Venezolana on one of the oldest commercial airplanes in the world, YV3471 first delivered in 1978! This one gives you the view forward of the wing, and plenty of amazing whine from the classic JT8D jet engines. We’ll also have the return leg coming soon from the last row of the aircraft, for a great view of those unique thrust reversers!

How Rolls-Royce Jet Engines Are Built
In this video we take you deep inside the Rolls Royce jet engine site in Derby, England to look at how these state-of-the-art jet engines are built, tested, inspected and improved. In particular we’ll be looking at the Trent 1000 (which powers the 787) and how Rolls Royce is improving reliability and durability by swapping out High Pressure Turbine components. We’ll also check out their most advanced engine inspection technology as we get a demo of their boroscoping method.
