3 hours (transatlantic!) in the Dash 8 cockpit

We’re going transatlantic on the workhorse Dash 8-200 with Air Greenland – flying from the brand new Nuuk International Airport in Greenland to Reykjavik’s Keflavik Airport in Iceland (KEF). And we’re sitting in the jumpseat which means we have 3 hours on this very-long-haul-for-a-turboprop over the ice cap and remote east Greenland plus the Atlantic Ocean.

Enjoy all the flight deck sights and sounds taking off in a bit of a snowstorm and then enjoying a beautiful sunrise and landing into Iceland’s main hub on a crisp and clear sunny day. We hear from the pilots about everything from Dash 8 operations to engine failures to the new airport in Nuuk, and why the remote airport of Kulusuk needs to be open for them to even take off on this flight. They are great company so you won’t want to miss this one.
