The onboard service is simple but you don’t need much with mountain and wilderness views like this out the window. A decent cup of coffee, a nice cookie and a friendly flight attendant make this a smooth and enjoyable trip, despite a touch of blustery weather on approach to Anchorage.
It’s an impressive operation considering the remoteness of the area, the amount of logistics that need to go into it and the challenges they face on a regular basis – not least of which is the weather! Tim and his colleagues rely on the improved flight tracking from their Flightradar24 receiver to know where the N426SD is at any given time. Teachers and others out at the various regional schools use it to know when the plane is coming in too.
