Airbus A320ceo vs Boeing 737NG – which one do you prefer?

The Airbus A320ceo and Boeing 737NG are two of the most iconic aircraft in aviation history, beloved by airlines and pilots alike. Known for their reliability, efficiency, and versatility, these narrow-body jets have been the backbone of short- and medium-haul travel for decades. However, when comparing the two, the debate often boils down to performance, passenger comfort, and operational costs. Pilots, passengers, and aviation enthusiasts all have their preferences—some favor the innovative cockpit of the A320ceo, while others swear by the robust handling of the 737NG. So, if you had to choose, which one do you prefer to fly on?

  1. Flown on both types many times in and around Europe. To be honest I prefer the Airbus A320ceo family over the Boeing 737NG every time. Also flown on A320neo family many times, I won’t fly on the B737 Max as I still don’t trust them. But that’s just me and my opinion.

    1. Nowadays always Airbus where possible over Boeing. Look at the safety records. Crashes, doors falling off, even space programme failures.
Plus the airbus 380 is far more comfortable than the B-777 for long haul flights.
Boeing have well and truly earned the thumbs down 👎 from me.

    2. Just back from 2 4hr flights on 737-700 out and 737-max back. 700 is old slow and ceiling limited. Max newer nicer faster (Thx to100k tw) and +10k on ceiling better.

  2. Agree with Mr Best, except I’d fly on the Max if there wasn’t an alternative.

  3. I prefer the A 320 also.More room in the seats etc. Have found Boeings have less leg room.

  4. As a pilot, I have flown many hours in each of these fine aircraft, but will take the 737 first every time! The yolk and it’s feel system is what this old pilot prefers.

  5. As a former cabin crew who worked on both types, I say give me the Airbus every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

  6. I prefer the A320ceo for flying, but for photo I prefer the B737NG, because is more photogenic

  7. Both are alright but if i had to choose one it would be the A320!!✈️🛫🛫

  8. According to my records, the 737 is slightly ahead of the 320 in the number of flights. It is the 320 for me. I feel that I have greater shoulder width on the Airbus. It also as more power. I like the feeling of being pressed into the seat on take-off on the 320, which I don’t get on the 737.

  9. A320 every time. Fuselage is wider, gives more shoulder space. Technology wise, 737 is a dinosaur. Engines could be the same (CFM56) but 320 with V2500 has a bit more power.

  10. As a passenger, I like both models. I have traveled a lot in different places in the cabin – in the front, in the middle around the wing, or in the back. The noise perception is different in each of these places. The perception of comfort depends mostly on which airline is on a given flight…but, I still love the 737 because its windows are a little bigger than those of the 320 and a little lower.

  11. A320 without doubt. Aside from more space – essential with a lot of short trip winter flying hence bulky clothing – would never fly an american aircraft.

  12. Airbus A320. A safer option and no doubts how it is being built. 737 remains a 1960s plane design with a fundamental issues that compromise upgrades.

  13. I just love the 737 max 8. Our trip to Hawaii was so smooth and comfortable. The cabin and seating of the Max are even better than the 737NG.

  14. I flew many hours on both of them – NO QUESTION: The Airbus A320!!

I consider the B737 completely overdone, outdated and partially dangerous compared to the still far more modern A320.

All “old pilots” that still look back to yokes (b.t.w., it’s not written “yolk”.. .that has something to do with eggs 😉 and old-fashioned cockpit designs have just not understood the features and laws of the very clever A320 😉

  15. I love the A320 especially the neo. It seems to be off the ground within seconds of take off. Power is amazing. I’ve travelled many times on Boeing 737 and twice on the max. Both fine and max tbh was fabulous but I don’t have the confidence any more with Boeing where I have full trust in Airbus. Will be on the A380 later this year and am so excited about travelling on it!

  16. The landing is so hard on a B737 (Don’t know if it is only Ryanair) but the A320 feels so much softer and lighter although I feel the B737 (Albeit a legend) has carried along in its carrier for too long. Trying to make an old aircraft look new just practically wrecks it! Although both aircraft are superb! The A321 might be taking over.?

  17. I have flown in both the A320 generation are more spacious and comfortable and I’m reluctant to trust Boeing.

  18. A320. Much more comfortable to fly on than a 737. Wider fuselage and wider seats (most of the time).

  19. A320s always land much smoother than 737s. If you watch them you can see that the A320 produces less smoke from the tyres.
The 737 landing characteristics are probably why Ryanair pilots are unfairly accused of landing in a hurry.

  20. A320 without a doubt for the reasons stated by others above; the 737 is still an old evolution of the original. The vertical fin fillet looks like an afterthought to my eyes and the nacelles have the appearance of dragging along the ground like a scooting dog.

  21. I’m a Boeing guy Flew both 757/767. And my baby 747. Never flew any airbus Page. Yes. Prefer 737 any variant 321 is good a/c though

  22. With the point of view of an aircraft designer: Concept of 737 is outdated, with its short landing gear, so there is no height for modern engines with big diameter so they have to be placed in front of the wings, with enormeous effect to the air flow over the wing. Implicitely this is the reason for 737 crashes.

  23. Since the late 80’s a distrust of Boeing Aircraft, to the extent that when planing business flights, wherever possible, chose to fly from an airport and with a carrier that fulfilled the service with Airbus aircraft. Never really understood what my foreboding was just I knew I had one. Did not help that every time I was forced on a 737 my hearing suffered badly, where as I ca honestly say I never ever suffered on an Airbus.

  24. It’s Airbus for me. Much better looking aircraft. I hate the pointed nose of the 737.

  25. I flew in a max in Africa ( following the 1st crash, it was OK – ) short flight, would prefer to fly Airbus now, don’t trust Boeing anymore, they’ve lost a lot of confidence by people. The adaptive design that made them nose heavy hasn’t gone down well. Now a Dreamliner has crashed upon take off?? No details yet?! One gets he impression that Boeing are trying to cut corners as other manufactures are starting to eat into the market. Flying to Europe next month – Airbus.

  26. I prefer the 320. It’s quieter, particularly in the back and there’s more leg and shoulder room. It’s safety record is also comforting!

  27. 737NG because in my not so very professional opinion, Boeing is better than Airbus. Kinda like how the U.S. air force uses mostly aircraft by being like all of their tankers (disregarding the KC-130) are all 707s

  28. I agree with so many of the comments above, particularly about shoulder room. I’m 6’3” and I will not fly an aisle seat on a Boeing. I get hit by every cart and bum passing by. The 320 series have better shoulder space and are more comfortable in my estimation. Years ago I flew on an A300 with Alitalia LHR -FCO. loved it. Since then A310 (TAP), 318,319,320,321 and A330, A 340. Love the A 330-900. Great aircraft. One day maybe the A-350 and the A-380. 🤞
