Singapore Airlines Relaunches the World’s Longest Flight with the Airbus A350ULR

1782 days after stopping service, Singapore Airlines is relaunching the world’s longest flights today as it brings back SQ21/SQ22 service between Singapore and New York (EWR). With a Great circle distance of 15,336 km, it is almost 1,000 km further than the current longest flight between Auckland and Doha operated by Qatar Airways. The return service from New York to Singapore is also the longest flight by time, with a block time of 18 hours 45 minutes. (more…)

Flightradar24 Data Related to Southwest Airlines Flight 1380

On 17 April 2018, Southwest Airlines flight 1380 from New York to Dallas suffered an uncontained engine failure of the number 1 (left hand) engine. The aircraft diverted safely to Philadelphia. Southwest Airlines and the NTSB have confirmed that there was one passenger fatality aboard flight 1380. (more…)

See How Storm Stella Stalled Flights this Week

On Tuesday, 14 March air traffic ground to a halt in the northeast United States as winter storm ‘Stella’ dumped snow (or threatened to) on cities from Washington DC through Maine. For 12 hours on Tuesday, between 4:30 am and 4:30 pm, only two flights landed at JFK Airport in New York. (more…)

Flightradar24 Data Regarding Runway Excursion at La Guardia Airport

On Thursday evening 27 October at 23:41 UTC (19:41 EDT) Eastern Air Lines flight 3452 suffered a runway excursion while landing at La Guardia Airport (KLGA/LGA) in New York. The flight was operated by N278EA, a Boeing 737-700, built in 1998. The flight was carrying US Vice-Presidential candidate Mike Pence, campaign staff, and members of the media.
