2018 was a year of highs, lows, and head scratchers. We take you through the year that was and we also revisit some of our favorite interviews from last year.

2018 Aviation Year in Review

As 2019 begins, we look back on a decidedly mixed 2018 for aviation. Positively, a variety of new aircraft entered service and airlines added new and longer routes, bridging continents. Conversely, 2018 erased the previous year’s record streak of fatality-free jet airliner accidents. Here’s our 2018 aviation year in review. (more…)

Watch Air France’s stunning air-to-air film featuring its Boeing 787

After taking delivery of their fifth Boeing 787 last November, Air France partnered Daher and Airborne Films to capture stunning air-to-air footage before the aircraft entered commercial service. We’ve posted the final version of Air France’s Boeing 787 air-to-air film below, along with a much longer behind-the-scenes version that shows the close coordination of the two flight crews. Behind the Scenes of a UPS Airlines Air-to-air Photo Shoot

On 16 September, we received about a dozen messages on social media regarding a low flying plane over Los Angeles being shadowed by a single ‘fighter jet’-like aircraft. Upon investigation, it became clear that it was a UPS Airlines air-to-air photography flight with Wolfe Air. This week, UPS Airlines released behind the scenes footage from the flights. (more…)
