Our most wanted ADS-B receiver locations in April 2024 – help us power global flight tracking

  • Where are we looking to place receivers in April 2024?

Flightradar24 is powered by the largest global network of independent ADS-B receivers, collecting multiple data points from hundreds of thousands of aircraft each day and displaying them on our map. These receivers are hosted by individuals and organizations worldwide.

Whilst we already have the most expansive network of such receivers in the world, we are constantly expanding our coverage, dispatching between 30-50 complete ADS-B receiver sets per-week. That’s where you come in…

Why host an ADS-B receiver?

If you are located in an area where we want to expand our coverage, we will dispatch an ADS-B receiver to you free of charge. Not only will you help make improved real-time flight data available to millions of aviation enthusiasts and professionals, but as a thank you, you’ll also receive a free Flightradar24 Business Plan subscription worth USD 499.99 per year. A Business Plan gives you access to all of Flightradar24’s features and a vast amount of historical flight data.

Whilst airports are a key focus for placing receivers, we are also looking to expand our Multilateration (MLAT) coverage in other areas. This technology helps us to track aircraft that do not yet have an ADS-B transponder (and still rely on an older transponder to report flight information), and aircraft subject to GPS interference.

East of England – coastal area

We are looking to place receivers in coastal areas in the East of England to improve MLAT coverage in the North Sea.

North of Turkey

We are looking to place receivers in the North of Turkey to improve MLAT tracking of aircraft affected by GPS jamming and interference in the Black Sea area.

Hosting a receiver – what you need to know

We’ve designed our ADS-B receiver to be as easy as possible to install and operate. The receiver unit itself is compact – measuring just 100x60x30mm. It connects directly to your router or modem by Ethernet cable and does not need a PC to run. Please note that you must be able to keep the receiver online 24/7.
