Flightradar24 now has over 50,000 active data sharers around the world

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Flightradar24 recently surpassed 50,000 connected ground stations globally. On average, that’s 30% higher than other flight trackers. We want to pass on a huge thank you to everyone who feeds data to Flightradar24 – we couldn’t do it without you.

Of these 50,000 stations, approximately 7,000 are Flightradar24-supplied ADS-B receiver kits, with the remainder being ADS-B receivers independently built by users. This network forms the backbone of Flightradar24’s capabilities.

ADS-B, or Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast, is pivotal in modern aviation, enabling precise tracking of aircraft positions, altitudes, and other critical flight data. Flightradar24 leverages this technology to provide real-time flight information to millions of users globally.

The expansive network of ground-based receivers ensures comprehensive coverage, even in remote regions, enhancing the accuracy and reliability of flight tracking data. This data is crucial for aviation professionals, hobbyists, and anyone with an interest in tracking flights worldwide.

Each week Flightradar24 sends out between 30-50 complete ADS-B receiver sets (including receiver, antenna, and cables). In return for helping us power the world’s most popular flight tracker, we provide our hosts with a complimentary Business subscription to Flightradar24.

Wondering if you’re in a location in need of ADS-B coverage? Take a look at our most wanted receiver locations. We are also currently seeking new hosts to the south and east of London Heathrow Airport
