On Thursday evening 27 October at 23:41 UTC (19:41 EDT) Eastern Air Lines flight 3452 suffered a runway excursion while landing at La Guardia Airport (KLGA/LGA) in New York. The flight was operated by N278EA, a Boeing 737-700, built in 1998. The flight was carrying US Vice-Presidential candidate Mike Pence, campaign staff, and members of the media. No injuries have been reported.
The flight departed Fort Dodge, Iowa (KFOD/FOD) at 21:22 UTC for New York’s La Guardia Airport. Upon landing in New York on La Guardia’s Runway 22 the aircraft exited the usable area of the runway, impacted the Engineered Material Arresting System (EMAS) and stopped in the grass to the right of the runway.
