On 21 May, Cathay Pacific hosted its 2017 Community Day, inviting 100 children and their families on board a Boeing 777-300 for a 90 minute flight from Hong Kong. During the flight, the 777 drew a heart before landing. While Cathay’s 777 certainly isn’t the first to draw a heart, to the best of our knowledge, it is the largest aircraft tracked on Flightradar24 to do so.
Hearts over Hong Kong
The flight departed and arrived in Hong Kong, carrying 100 first time fliers who earned a seat on the flight through a writing competition. Accompanying the children and their families we 60 Cathay Pacific crew members, including pilot Captain Hank Cheng. Cheng completed a round-the-world journey last year in the first home-built aircraft to be registered in Hong Kong.
