These Are the Droids You’re Looking For—Tracking the ANA Star Wars Fleet

In partnership with the movie franchise, ANA painted a total of four aircraft in special liveries to celebrate Star Wars. The first was the Boeing 787 R2-D2. A 777 in BB-8 livery, a 777 in C-3PO livery, and 767 in a combined C-3PO/R2-D2 livery followed. As of August 2025, R2-D2 is slated for repainting after final flights on 6 August between Tokyo and Washington. The 777 in C-3PO livery remains in service for now, operating domestic flights.
