Lauda honors Niki Lauda with flypast and special message

On 20 May 2019, Formula 1 legend and aviation great Niki Lauda passed away at the age of 70. On 21 May, the airline Lauda paid tribute to Niki Lauda with a special flypast and message in the aircraft’s windows at Vienna airport.

Niki wir vermissen dich!

In the windows of the A320 OE-LMB was written the message, ‘Niki wir vermissen dich!’ — ‘Niki we miss you!’

In addition to winning multiple Formula 1 championships, Lauda was also the founder of Lauda Air, and acquired or managed airlines Niki and LaudaMotion during his long aviation career. Lauda was also a commercial pilot and would sometimes captain flights at Niki.
