As the wildfire in Fort McMurray, Alberta, continues to grow, more aerial reinforcements for the fire fighters on the ground will soon be in place.

The Government of Quebec is sending at least four CL-415 Super Scoopers to fight the Fort McMurray fire. They departed Quebec on Thursday, 5 May for the fire area. The CL-415 can carry up to 6,137 litres water and refill using its scoops in 12 seconds.
To track the CL-415s use call sign QUE or aircraft type CL2T.
A note about tracking these types of aircraft: we are often using MLAT to track fire fighting aircraft, which can result in gaps in coverage, especially in rural areas near the fire. Radar data may also not provide complete information about a flight.
Correction: an earlier version of this post incorrectly stated the Martin Mars water bomber would be sent to Alberta. We regret the error.
