With over 10,000 receivers we tracked 4,783,244 flights in May. We also added nearly 200 new Flightradar24 receivers to our network in May. Spread over six continents, the new receivers are providing coverage in new areas and increasing our MLAT coverage in areas with existing ADS-B coverage.
In Africa, we activated receivers in Zimbabwe, Sudan, Kenya, and São Tomé for increased coverage. New receivers in South Africa increased our MLAT coverage there.
We also increased our coverage area in Asia with new receivers in Pakistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, among others. A new receiver in Oman is helping extend our coverage of the Arabian Sea. New receivers in China are increasing our MLAT coverage there as well.
Our coverage area in Australia expanded with a new receiver in Western Australia. Moving east, MLAT coverage in eastern Australia grew and three new receivers in the south Pacific are covering more transpacific flights.
In the Americas, the north coast of Brazil gained additional MLAT coverage as did portions of California and the US east coast. We increased our transatlantic coverage as well with new receivers near St. John’s, Newfoundland and Qaqortoq, Greenland.
