New Flightradar24 ADS-B Receivers Activated in August 2017

In August we activated over 100 new receivers as we continue to expand our coverage area around the world. In August those new receivers helped us track a record 5.36 million flights and a one-day record of 190,003 flights on 24 August.

Our most notable new receiver this month is now tracking flights from Chernobyl. Installed in Pripyat, approximately 1.5 km from the nuclear power plant, the receiver is helping with coverage in northern Ukraine.

Other notable receivers include those in Africa, including receivers in Namibia, Niger, and Zimbabwe. Six new receivers in China are helping expand ADS-B coverage and increase MLAT coverage. Two new receivers in New Zealand are increasing our MLAT coverage there as well.
