She said yes! Man uses helicopter flight to propose

On Sunday, 1 December Robinson R44 helicopter SP-ORP lifted off from Bydgoszcz, Poland with three people on board. With pilot Jacek at the controls and passengers Alexander and Oliwia in the rear seat, only two of the three people knew just how special this flight would be.

Alexander had contacted Jacek at the beginning of September with an idea for a flight path marriage proposal. Keeping airspace restrictions and other traffic in mind, Jacek crafted a flight plan that kept them clear of busy areas.

A subtle signal

When the big day arrived, Oliwia and Alexander climbed into the back of the helicopter and Jacek took off. Once clear of the airport area, about 15 minutes into the flight, the real work began. The “MARRY ME” message and heart drawing took just over an hour to complete.

After he had finished, Jacek gave Alexander a subtle signal and Alexander asked Oliwia to check their flight path on Flightradar24. As she pulled up the flight on her phone, he pulled out the ring.

And we’re thrilled to report she said yes!

Congratulations to the happy couple!
