Pilots need to continually build their number of flight hours as they work toward additional licenses and proficiencies. Many pilots do this with standard pattern work and flights to various airports in their region. Then there’s Capt Butter, a pilot who is self-described as “a little bit too invested in BYU football.”
That’s one way to support your favorite team
Capt Butter and his Piper PA-28-161 have been active in the skies over western Washington the past few weeks as the college football season gets underway. Beginning with encouraging Brigham Young University (BYU) to beat Sam Houston State University, the flights have continued weekly as BYU has moves to 2-0 on the season. In week two after a “Beat Arkansas” flight, week three brings us a “Beat Kansas” flight, with some improvements to the writing.
Football and animals
Not content to be know just for of his love of BYU football, Capt Butter also has a fondness for animals. He recently created an Orca above Orcas Island and followed that up with a large elephant.
Sometimes a training flight is just a training flight
But not every flight can be so interesting, sometimes you just need to practice your take offs and landings.
