A chance at Flightradar24 Gold: identify the aircraft contrails

A beautiful livery and a chance to win a free Flightradar24 Gold subscription, what could be better? By correctly identifying the contrails seen at the 9 minute mark in the video below, you’ll be entered to win one of three Flightradar24 Gold subscriptions. 

Here’s what you need to do

Watch the video below. We encourage you to watch the whole video because it is an amazing view of the Queen of the Skies, but if you’re just here for the contest, you can skip to the 9 minute mark.

Hone your Flightradar24 detective skills by using Playback to identify the registrations of the two aircraft seen producing contrails above the Lufthansa 747. Enter the your email address, name, and the two registrations in the form below and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a Flightradar24 1-year Gold subsciption.

Need a few hints?

  • The video shows the parking position of the aircraft so you know which direction you’re facing and which direction the aircraft are flying.
  • You can use playback of D-ABYN’s flight to from San Bernardino to Frankfurt on 4 March to help your search. The 9 minute mark in the video occurs 10 minutes after the aircraft reaches its parking position.
  • Contrails occur only at high altitudes.

One entry per person, must include your email address to claim your prize. All entries must be received by 23:59 UTC 10 March. Winners will be notified by email by 13 March 2026. Prize is a complimentary one-year subscription to Flightradar24.
