A Brief History of Drawing Hearts with an Airliner

To add a little love to an otherwise standard training flight, Virgin Atlantic drew a heart with one of their recently delivered A330s today off the coast of the UK for Valentine’s Day. This wasn’t the first time an airline has taken to the sky to draw a heart though.

Our New Receiver Near Chernobyl

We’ve installed receivers in remote locations like Antarctica, Bear Island in the Barents Sea, and St Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean, but even we were a bit surprised when we received an application from Pripyat, Ukraine. Pripyat, now a ghost town, was the city built to support the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Our Wave Glider Has Reached Its Target Test Area

Our Wave Glider has reached its target area southeast of Jan Mayen and is providing valuable data as we continue to evaluate ways to bring ADS-B coverage to the oceans. The Wave Glider will now remain on station in the target area for a few weeks before making its way back to Norway.
