On this week’s episode of AvTalk, Jason is traveling in Japan and Ian is prepping his Thanksgiving Turkey. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to discuss. An Azimuth Airlines SuperJet caught fire after a hard landing in Antalya. A Swiftair 737-400 operating for DHL crashed 1.5km short of the runway in Vilnius, killing one of four crew members on board. And Emirates took delivery of its first A350, but the flight path left many scratching their heads.

This week there was also a crash we’re 5 people died in Costa Rica, a Cessna 206 stationer TI-GER, this should have also been brought up since it is also related to aviation and people died, don’t know why you guys aren’t covering it or commenting on it.
Hi
Just listened to AvTalk Episode 296. The guys talked about the RNZAF carrying out their first flights to Antarctica with the C130. This was the first flight utilizing their new C130J. The RNZAF has operated to Antarctica for decades utilizing the C130H model.
Here’s the NZDF release on the first RNZAF C-130J flight to the ice. NZ has the first C-130H’s off the production line, and have been flying them down there for nearly 60 years. The retirement of the H-models will happen in December.
