Typhoon Ampil, a category 4 storm, has caused significant disruption to flights to Tokyo’s Airports. We used our data to look at the airports and airlines affected.
Airports
The most notable impact has been on Tokyo’s two airports – Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) and Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT).
Tokyo Haneda Airport has seen a total of 935 canceled flights. That equates to 69% of departing flights and 72% of arriving flights. Tokyo Narita has fared slightly better so far, with a total of 349 cancellations, representing 50% of departures and arrivals.

Airlines
All Nippon Airways (NH/ANA) has been most affected by the disruption, with 362 total cancellations so far. Japan Airlines (JL/JAL) has also been significantly affected, with 346 flights affected. Other airlines making the top five include Jetstar Japan (GK/JJP), Solaseed Air (6J/SNJ), and Skymark Airlines (BC/SKY).
