The aircraft involved

The Delta Air Lines A350-900 was delivered to the airline in 2017. The CRJ-900 was delivered to Endeavor Air in 2014, operating for Delta Connection since then.

Investigative updates

On 8 October 2024, the NTSB issued its preliminary report on the collision. The report includes a graphic indicating the CRJ-900 stopped prior to the hold short line. This left insufficient clearance between the aircraft’s tail and the A350’s right wingtip.

N302PQ flies again!

On 20 September 2025, just over a year after N302PQ lost its tail in Atlanta, the aircraft was back in the air for a test flight. After extensive repairs to the airframe, the CRJ-900 is nearly ready to return to service. The first revenue service is scheduled from Wausau, Wisconsin to Minneapolis on 10 October.
