Following a 23-year hiatus, Virgin Atlantic will resume operations to Toronto Pearson Airport. Flights will be carried out from/to London Heathrow beginning March 30th, 2025, for summer season.
Toronto will become the company’s only destination in Canada, returning to the North American country after just over a decade. The last service was in October 2014 between Heathrow and Vancouver, a route the airline had operated since mid-2012.
Virgin Atlantic will offer seven flights per week to Toronto from London with a mix of Airbus A330-300s and Airbus A330-900neo, the latter being the newest aircraft in its fleet. The A330-300 has 264 seats, while the A330neo has 262, both featuring the airline’s four products (Economy Light and Classic, Economy Delight, Premium and Upper Class).
According to its website, where services have been available for sale as of June 19th, 5 of the 7 weekly flights will be performed on Airbus A330-300, and the remaining 2 using Airbus A330-900neo, which means 1,844 seats offered a week on each leg.

Virgin Atlantic, in addition to returning to Canada, has announced the expansion of its partnership with WestJet. The agreement was signed at the IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Dubai to extend the current codeshare agreement between the two airlines, which has been maintained since 2019.
“Through the expansion of our existing partnership with Virgin Atlantic, we are unlocking amazing opportunities for our guests to access an extensive list of new destinations and to experience Virgin Atlantic’s innovative products and services beyond London,” said John Weatherill, WestJet’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. “With daily flights from our global hub in Calgary to London, Canadians have never had better international access from across Western Canada to the United Kingdom and beyond.”
Starting this winter, the expanded partnership will provide guests with one-stop access on a single itinerary from Calgary via Virgin Atlantic’s Global Hub at London Heathrow to destinations including Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru in India, along with Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa, Lagos (Nigeria), Dubai (UAE) and the Maldives.
