Effective September 12th, 2025, Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) will inaugurate flights between Denmark and South Korea, expanding its intercontinental network. The airline will operate with Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which are configured for 300 passengers in two seating classes (40 Business, 32 Premium Economy and 228 Economy).

According to its press release, this will be the first-ever regular direct service between Scandinavia and Korea, which it will offer with four weekly flights during summer 2025, and three times a week through winter 2025/26. At the time of publication, the company will serve Seoul from Copenhagen until March 28th, 2026.

Scandinavian Airlines System will provide 1,200 and 900 weekly seats between Copenhagen and Seoul and vice versa by summer 2025 and winter 2025/26, respectively.

“This new route highlights our commitment to meeting customer demand and enhancing connectivity between two dynamic regions. Seoul, renowned as a global center of culture, innovation, and business, is a strategic addition to our growing network. As a proud SkyTeam member, this route further strengthens the seamless connectivity we provide, linking Scandinavia to key destinations across the globe. We are excited to welcome passengers on board this landmark service”, said Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS.

In addition to the first-ever flight to Korea, SAS will expand its Scandinavian operations during winter 2025, start flights to Nuuk following the opening of its new airport and launch services between Copenhagen and Seattle.

As a result of its recent agreement with Braathens Regional Airways AB (BRA), the airline will strengthen its Sweden route network, by launching new routes and increasing frequencies on important services within the country. From January 2025, Scandinavian Airlines System will begin flying to Halmstad, Kalmar and Sälen, in all three cases from Stockholm Arlanda (ARN).

Regarding Seattle, the carrier will commence services from Copenhagen effective May 21st, 2025. These flights, which will have five weekly frequencies, will provide connections to other SAS destinations in the Danish capital, such as Berlin, Helsinki, Milan and Zurich.

The launch of Scandinavian Airlines System to Seattle marks an important milestone for the airline, as it will resume flights to the U.S. city following 57 years of its inaugural flight.

SAS currently serves nine destinations in North America, all of them in the United States. In accordance with our database, Atlanta (CPH), Boston (CPH), Chicago (CPH), Los Angeles (CPH), Miami (ARN and CPH), New York (CPH), Newark (ARN, CPH and OSL), San Francisco (CPH) and Washington DC (CPH) are part of the schedule.
