Edelweiss announced the expansion of its international schedule from/to Zurich, with the inauguration of two new regular routes starting mid-2025. In both cases, the airline will be the only operator, being ZRH – Halifax the shortest service to Canada from Switzerland.
As of June 2nd, 2025, Edelweiss Air will launch flights between Zurich and Seattle, which will be operated with Airbus A340-300 aircraft seating 314 passengers. At the time of publication, these services will be available during summer, with the last flight scheduled on September 20th.
During the nearly three months of operations, the company will offer 32 services on this route, for a total of 10,048 seats per leg. Edelweiss will be the only airline with operations between Switzerland and Seattle.
The US city currently has 9 non-stop connections to Europe, including Amsterdam, Dublin, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Istanbul IST, London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Reykjavik. With respect to airlines, Air France, Air Tahiti Nui, British Airways, Condor, Delta Air Lines, Finnair, Icelandair, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines and Virgin Atlantic operate in this market.

Last March, Edelweiss Air confirmed the addition of its first Airbus A350-900 during Q1 2025. The company, which will become the first airline in Switzerland to have these aircraft, will add a total of six A350s, with the last scheduled to join by the end of 2026.
In accordance with the press release, the second will arrive in July 2025, the third in October 2025, the fourth by the end of the year and the last two by mid-2026. Edelweiss plans to retire A340-300s effective 2025.
Regarding the A350’s first long-haul destinations, Las Vegas and Vancouver will be the regular routes operated from/to Zurich. At publication time, flights to Las Vegas will commence in May 2025, while services to Vancouver will begin in July 2025, with the arrival of the second A350-900.
Edelweiss Air operates all of its long-haul routes using Airbus A340-300s.
It was recently seen at Shannon the first Edelweiss A350-900, registered OE-LHF (for the moment).
The aircraft departed the Irish city on Thursday, August 15th at 11:19 local time en route to Teruel. As can be seen on social media, the A350 already has the livery of Edelweiss, which received it at SNN.
This Airbus A350 is 7.7 years old and has been inactive since July 2021.
On December 30th, 2016, new from the factory, the A350 arrived in Belo Horizonte from Toulouse to join LATAM Airlines under the registration PR-XTG. Due to the pandemic, and to unify its international fleet, the Airbus A350s were withdrawn from the airline, being sent, most of them, to Victorville.
The Airbus A350-900 was incorporated in January 2024 by the Lufthansa Group, receiving its current registry OE-LHF. When added to Edelweiss, it will be re-registered as HB-IHC.
