Cathay lands deep in the heart of Texas

Cathay Pacific strengthens its U.S. operations with a new route between Hong Kong and Dallas. Services will begin on April 24th, 2025 and will be conducted by Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, configured for 334 passengers in three seating classes (46 Business, 32 Premium Economy and 256 Economy).

Dallas Fort Worth airport, as mentioned in our USA/Canada report, will become the airline’s sixth passenger destination in the United States and eighth in North America, including Canada. All of its flights are carried out from/to Hong Kong, on Airbus A350s and Boeing 777s.

At the time of publication, Cathay will have four services a week to Dallas, offering 1,336 weekly seats per leg with this schedule. Hong Kong will be DFW’s sixth destination to Asia, following Doha, Dubai, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo (Haneda and Narita).

Our new flight is a further testament to the airline’s mission to connect passengers to our home city of Hong Kong and beyond.”

Cathay routes to North America

In accordance with our database, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York JFK, San Francisco, Toronto and Vancouver are its regular destinations in the region, as well as several cargo operations to/from Anchorage, Atlanta, Calgary, Columbus, Houston, Miami and Portland.

Considering the seven passenger routes, Cathay operates 79 flights per week in the Hong Kong – Americas market, of which 55 are to the US and the remainder to Canada.

Cathay offers more than 25,000 weekly seats between Hong Kong and North America, being approximately 16,650 to the United States.

In addition, by 2025, Cathay Pacific plans to increase the frequencies of its passenger services to the Americas. Starting in May, the airline will operate 108 flights a week from Hong Kong, using Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 planes. As well as the new service to Dallas, it will include three daily flights to New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and a daily operation to Boston and Chicago. Cathay also continues to expand its services to Canada, with 14 flights per week to Vancouver and 13 weekly flights to Toronto.

Seats offered will increase by 36% (from 25,000 to approximately 34,000).
