American upgauging Charlotte-London

American announced it will start operating between Charlotte and London Heathrow with Boeing 777-300(ER) effective November 5th. These aircraft will serve this route once daily, and the other frequencies will be performed by Boeing 777-200(ER) jets.

For the first time, the airline will use the 77W on scheduled intercontinental flights from/to Charlotte.

Dublin, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Madrid, Munich, Paris and Rome are American’s current destinations to Europe from CLT.

Fiji Airways to fly to Dallas in 2025?

The airline is apparently planning to commence services from Nadi, Fiji, in mid-2025, using Airbus A350-900 aircraft configured for 334 passengers, in accordance with a tentative schedule that appeared on its website.

However, Fiji Airways is still awaiting approval from The U.S. Department of Transportation for the beginning of this route, which would be the longest in its network.

If launched, Fiji Airways would reach four destinations in the United States, joining Honolulu, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and five in the Americas including Vancouver in Canada.

Avelo makes the most important expansion in its history

The US carrier will inaugurate 17 new routes between October and November, which will be carried out on Boeing 737-700s and Boeing 737-800s with 147 and 189 seats, respectively.

Aeromexico

Starting October 27th, the Mexican airline will begin services from Mexico City to Newark. According to its website, flights will have a daily frequency with 166-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes.

Currently, Aeromexico operates to Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York JFK, Orlando, Raleigh-Durham, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, Seattle, Tampa and Washington DC from MEX, regarding US cities.

Air Canada

For winter season, Air Canada schedules more widebody aircraft flights between Canada and the United States.

Operations will be mainly from Toronto, with some services from Montreal and Vancouver:

Air Transat

The Canadian carrier will expand its capacity on the Montreal – Lima route as of December 20th. At present, Air Transat offers two flights a week using 199-seat Airbus A321neo jets.

By winter 2024/25, the company will start conducting one of the two frequencies with Airbus A330-200s, which are configured for 332 passengers in two classes.

Tuesday and Friday

 

Wednesday and Saturday

 

In accordance with our database, Air Transat currently has some services on this route with a technical stop in Montego Bay. This happens because it’s operating between the two cities using A321-200s and not Airbus A321neo, which can fly non-stop.

Alaska Airlines

Alaska confirmed the launch of several connections for winter 2024/25, both domestic and international.

These services are in addition to those previously announced to Mexico, as mentioned in the Latin America report.

Flights will be on Alaska’s Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-900, and Horizon and Skywest’s Embraer 175.

Allegiant Air

The company will begin eight new domestic routes during November.

All operations will be performed with Airbus A319 and Airbus A320 planes:

American Airlines

Las Vegas will have two new international routes from the airline during the first fortnight of January 2025, which coincides with the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, to be held in the U.S. city from January 7-10.

At the time of publication, London Heathrow and Tokyo Narita will be carried out daily from Vegas, on 273-seat Boeing 777-200(ER) jets.

After a two-year hiatus, American Airlines will once again serve the New York JFK – Las Vegas route. The first flight will be on November 5th, according to its website, and will operate between both cities with the following schedule:

Avelo

As well as the new additions, Avelo plans to incorporate its tenth Boeing 737-800 in the short term.

The aircraft was inactive at Miami Opa Locka between January and July, following its retirement from the Aerolíneas Argentinas fleet. Until late 2023, it was registered LV-FQB.

On July 2nd, the 737 departed OPF for Macon (MCN), returning again to Miami two weeks later.

The 737-800 is expected to join Avelo shortly, under registration N814VL.

In addition to the N814VL, the airline will introduce its eight Boeing 737-700 (N721VL) and another Boeing 737-800 (N815VL).

Breeze Airways

As of February 5th, 2025, Breeze will inaugurate services between New Orleans and Las Vegas. The company will have six weekly flights on this route, in line with its website.

Daily except Tuesday

 

New Orleans Int’l Airport – KMSY

Two weeks later, on February 19th, Breeze Airways will start operating to Los Angeles from New Orleans, also offering six services per week with Airbus A220s:

Delta Air Lines

Delta’s Airbus A330-900neo will operate transatlantic flights from Cincinnati.

The first service will depart to Paris Charles de Gaulle next October 29th. Delta will conduct this route with three weekly frequencies during winter 2024/25.

These aircraft will replace the Boeing 767-400(ER), which has 43 fewer seats than the A330neo.

Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

 

On the other hand, starting December 21st, the carrier will resume services between Boston and Sarasota, to be carried out by Republic Airways’ Embraer 175s.

Saturday and Sunday

 

Delta Air Lines will fly this route again after almost five years.

Flair

Flair Airlines, as we previously mentioned, will begin flying between Toronto and Guadalajara effective September 13th, two times a week.

From October 28th, the Canadian airline will expand to three weekly services, which will be maintained through winter.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday

 

New flight on Wednesdays.

Hawaiian

Salt Lake City, new destination for Hawaiian’s Airbus A330-200.

Services will commence on December 15th, and will be during high season. The A330-200s will replace the Airbus A321neo currently operating this route from Honolulu.

Daily

 

At publication time, A321neo aircraft will resume flights between the two cities next January 8th, 2025.

Iberia

As we commented in the Europe report, the Spanish company will start operations to the United States using Airbus A321XLRs from Madrid. Its first destinations will be Boston and Washington DC, with three and six flights per week, respectively.

Iberia recently announced plans to increase services between Madrid and Boston with these aircraft, introducing a second daily frequency beginning February 14th, 2025.

The first flight between the two cities with A321XLRs will be on November 14th, increasing to daily as of December 15th.

jetBlue

Effective October, the airline plans to introduce Airbus A321LRs on several domestic routes.

These operations will be mainly from New York, plus one route from/to Los Angeles:

New York JFK

 

Los Angeles – West Palm Beach, by A321LR, starts on January 7th, 2025.

Pacific Coastal Airlines

Pacific Coastal, effective October 28th, will inaugurate services between Kelowna and Prince George. In accordance with its website, the Canadian carrier will offer six flights a week on this route with Beech 1900D aircraft configured for 19 passengers.

Porter

San Diego and Palm Springs, new routes for Porter Airlines.

Operations will begin in December and will be conducted on Embraer E-2s configured with 132 single-class seats.

Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando and San Francisco are its current U.S. connections from Toronto.

Southwest

The company will start flying several new domestic routes during January and February.

Spirit

In late July, the ultra low-cost carrier unveiled its new premium offerings, which will be available to book as of August 16th, and will introduce a completely refreshed passenger experience from August 27th.

Spirit’s new premium experience includes four new travel options, named Go Big, Go Comfy, Go Savvy and Go. These different options will allow passengers to choose how to travel according to their preferences.

“Provides the choice of either one carry-on bag or one checked bag and standard seat selection during booking. Go Savvy will be available to book and experience starting Aug. 16.”

“Offers the greatest affordability for those who want to keep it simple with the flexibility to purchase any of the following options: checked bags, standard seat selection, Wi-Fi, and snacks and beverages. Go will be available to book and experience beginning Aug. 16.”

United Airlines

As of December, the airline will expand its services to/from Denver with 168-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft:

The company is scheduled to resume flights between Los Angeles and St. George Regional Airport on September 26th, which will be operated by Skywest’s CRJ-200s with 30/50-passenger capacity.

United’s last services on this route had been in early 2020.

WestJet

Kelowna – Seattle, WestJet’s new route.

The first flight will depart the Canadian city on January 17th, 2025 for SEA. During the first month, operations will have five weekly frequencies on 72-seat Dash 8 jets.

By mid-February, it will boost to daily.

WestJet currently has flights from Kelowna to Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria and Winnipeg.
