The company comments it will operate with no fixed schedules. For more information, you can visit Allegiant’s website.

“We’re excited to announce that Allegiant is expanding nationwide, offering even more travel options to our customers,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s Chief Commercial Officer. “These additions reflect our ongoing commitment to meet customer demand. By connecting more cities, we’re making it easier for travelers to visit family and friends, access top leisure destinations, and create new memories. Our research shows that customers increasingly want affordability and convenience when they fly. Our low-cost fares and nonstop flights make Allegiant a top choice for leisure travelers.”

Fleet

With respect to the fleet, Allegiant Air added its first Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 last September 9th, as announced in our October U.S. report, starting scheduled services on October 20th with flight G4 2833 from Orlando Sanford to Greenville-Spartanburg.

The airline had planned to incorporate 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8-200s this year, but due to delivery delays the number was reduced to four. According to our database, a second 737 MAX has been added to Allegiant’s fleet, which has recently begun regular operations. The aircraft is registered as N814NV, has 190 seats in single class and is brand new from the factory.

Airbus and Boeing

Allegiant Air has 126 aircraft in its fleet, of which 124 are Airbus and the remaining two are Boeing. 34 are Airbus A319-100s, averaging 20 years old, and 90 Airbus A320-200s, which average 15 years.

As for the second 737 MAX 8-200, the plane departed Seattle Boeing Field on November 21st at 15:34 local time for Orlando Sanford, where it arrived at 23:13 local time after a ferry flight of almost five hours. It entered service on November 25th, covering flight G4 2839 between SFB and Memphis.

Traffic

On the other hand, Allegiant released its October 2024 traffic report.

Due to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Allegiant Air’s operations, as well as those of other US airlines, were significantly affected. This is shown in the number of total passengers and load factor, with a reduction compared to October 2023.

In accordance with the press release, Allegiant Air carried 1,168,344 passengers during October 2024, a 17% decrease versus the same month of the previous year. The load factor decreased by 5%, reaching 78.5% against 83.7%.

Regarding departures, 8,674 were registered, a 10.7% decrease.

“As observed and consistent with commentary from our third quarter earnings call, hurricanes Helene and Milton had an outsized impact on our business,” stated Drew Wells, Chief Commercial Officer of Allegiant Travel Company. “Nearly 1,000 flights were canceled between late September and early January, with approximately two-thirds of those cancelations occurring during the month of October. We are encouraged by booking trends following the election, which suggest a faster-than-expected recovery for the impacted areas. We will continue monitoring these trends with the intent of updating guidance, as needed.”
