The Final Flight of ANA’s Star Wars C-3PO B777

  • ANA’s iconic Star Wars C-3PO Boeing 777-200 (JA743A) is flying its final scheduled commercial service today.

  • The last flight is NH270 Fukuoka → Tokyo Haneda, departing 19:55 JST and arriving 21:30 JST.

  • Its retirement marks the end of ANA’s Star Wars jets, with the project formally ending 31 March 2026.

All Nippon Airways’ Star Wars C-3PO-themed Boeing 777-200 (registration JA743A) will make its final scheduled commercial flight today, bringing an end to one of aviation’s most distinctive special liveries.

A busy final day

JA743A has been working hard on its last day. After early morning flights between Tokyo Haneda and Sapporo, the gorgeous 777 currently is awaiting departure as NH270 from Haneda to Fukuoka, a grand finale worth celebrating.

Operating as flight NH270, C-3PO is scheduled to depart Fukuoka at 19:55 local time (11:55 CET) and arrive at Tokyo Haneda at 21:30 local time (13:30 CET). That’s the equivalent of making the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.

The end of an era

Today’s retirement of the C-3PO jet marks the complete end of ANA’s Star Wars partnership, which officially concludes on March 31st. The R2-D2 jet made its final flight in August 2025, while the BB-8 aircraft was repainted back to standard ANA colors in 2022. The decade-long partnership, which began in 2015, proved mutually beneficial. ANA (NH/ANA) gained unique branding recognition while Lucasfilm reached millions of passengers with its iconic characters.

The C-3PO jet has been a favorite among aviation photographers, with many great shots being available over at jetphotos.com.

  1. Sad to see the campaign end. Are the actual aircraft being retired as well? They seem to be young still. Safe travels friends.
