Watch Air France’s stunning air-to-air film featuring its Boeing 787

After taking delivery of their fifth Boeing 787 last November, Air France partnered Daher and Airborne Films to capture stunning air-to-air footage before the aircraft entered commercial service. We’ve posted the final version of Air France’s Boeing 787 air-to-air film below, along with a much longer behind-the-scenes version that shows the close coordination of the two flight crews. Virgin Orbit 747 ‘Cosmic Girl’ performs first captive carry test of ‘LauncherOne’ rocket

On 18 November, Virgin Orbit completed its first captive carry test of its 21.4 meter ‘LauncherOne’ rocket using its specially modified 747-400 ‘Cosmic Girl’ (N744VG). The 1 hour 19 minute flight out of Victorville took the 747 and rocket up to a max altitude of 16,000 feet. (more…)

Flightradar24 data regarding Air Astana E190 KC1388 loss-of-control incident near Lisbon

On 11 November, an Air Astana Embraer E190 (registration P4-KCJ), departed Alverca Airport following a heavy maintenance C-check at Oficinas Gerais de Material Aeronáutico. Shortly after departure the flight crew declared a Mayday stating they were dealing with a loss of control. After struggling with the aircraft for over 1 hour the crew was able to regain control and land at Beja Air Base on their third attempt. (more…)

Each month we send out complete ADS-B receiver kits that include an ADS-B receiver, antennas, and all necessary cabling to qualified hosts. You can apply to host one of our receivers or easily build your own. The dozens of new Flightradar24-supplied receiver kits and the hundreds of home-built receivers activated in October, combined with over 20,000 existing receivers, helped us track 5.6 million flights.
