Ready for Oshkosh 2016

On Saturday, 30 July we’re once again heading to the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. With over 10,000 aircraft and 500,000 people every year, AirVenture—or just Oshkosh—is always an amazing aviation event. This year at Oshkosh, much of the focus is on the celebration of Boeing’s 100th anniversary. As part of that celebration, Cathay Pacific is bringing one of their Boeing 747-8F freighters and we have something very special planned. (more…)

Happy 100th Birthday Boeing

In 1916, Boeing delivered its first airplane, the Boeing B&W. 100 years later they’ve produced and delivered tens of thousands of airplanes, and nearly 10,000 of the 737 alone. Following the Farnborough International Airshow

We’ve put together a short guide to tracking some of the interesting aircraft appearing this year in Farnborough. We’ll also be at the airshow on Thursday, 14 July so be sure to check our Twitter and Facebook page for updates. (more…)

New Flightradar24 Receivers Activated in June 2016

We activated nearly 200 receivers in June, adding new coverage to our extensive network. Our new and existing receivers allowed us to track over 4.8 million flights last month. While we’re experimenting with satellite-based ADS-B receivers, our terrestrial network will continue to be vitally important. (more…)

Successfully Testing Satellite-based ADS-B Tracking

We’re excited to announce we have just completed our first space-based ADS-B flight tracking test in cooperation with Airbus Defence and Space and GomSpace. Using the GOMX-3 satellite we collected ADS-B data from flights transiting the Atlantic Ocean outside our terrestrial coverage area and integrated that data into the Flightradar24 network, a first for any commercial flight tracking service.
