Using the New Flightradar24 KML and CSV Export Tools

With the release of the new Flightradar24 we added a host of great new features, but the biggest additions to our historical data are CSV and KML files. In addition to our standard online playback, premium subscribers are able to download CSV and KML files for offline use. CSV files provide a detailed record of a flight’s position and flight information, while KML files offer that information in a file suitable for use in a program like Google Earth. (more…)

Contact Lost with EgyptAir Flight 804

Early on the morning of 19 May 2016,  EgyptAir announced that it had lost contact with flight 804, traveling from Paris to Cairo. Flightradar24 tracked this flight via ADS-B and received flight data from the aircraft until 00:29 UTC, 19 May. The last recorded position received from the aircraft was 33.6757, 28.7924 at 36,975 feet. This position is consistent with statements from EgyptAir regarding the last known location of the aircraft before radar contact was lost. (more…)

Our Airfield Tour at Chicago-O’Hare Airport

Dreamlining—Following an American Airlines 787 for a Year

American Airlines took delivery of its first 787—N800AN—in January 2015 and quickly put it to work training pilots and other crew on the aircraft. American began commercial service a few months later on 7 May 2015 as N801AC carried passengers from Dallas to Chicago. We followed N800AN, American’s first 787-8 for a year to see how far it traveled and where it’s gone. (more…)

Take a Tour of the An-225 and Follow It to Perth, Australia in May

On 10 May, the largest cargo plane in the world will begin a 9 day journey from Ukraine to Australia. The Antonov An-225 Mriya will be bringing a large generator to Perth, arriving on 15 May. We have included the tentative schedule for the An-225 flights in May below. We also take a look inside the the An-225 to see how it carries up to 250 tonnes using its six engines. (more…)
